It’s been a while…

Empower and Hear has been busy building, studying, networking and creating. We are aiming to create a growing community.

There lived an individual with an unyielding enthusiasm and a desire to make a difference in the world—me. My story is one of passion, purpose, and the unwavering commitment to be of service to others. “And So She Hears!” A Short Story of a Black Woman’s Journey with Hearing Loss. It was a journey that led me through vibrant experiences, countless challenges, and ultimately towards an ever-growing desire to empower and uplift those around me. From an early age, I was captivated by the idea of making a positive impact on people's lives. However. I encountered setbacks and hurdles that tested my resolve and determination. But it was my ability to rise above challenges and persevere, fueled by an unwavering desire to be of service that truly made a difference.

The empowerment that I saw in my eyes, as I became more educated, became my driving force, propelling me to inspire change on a larger scale. Recognizing the power of storytelling, I harnessed my journey as a Hard of Hearing person to amplify the voices of those who may not be heard otherwise. I shared stories of triumph over adversity, shining a light on each challenge I encountered. With every word penned, I strived to inspire empathy, foster understanding, and mobilize action.

As we continue to diligently work behind the scenes, we have also been engaging with the public in a proactive manner. Through various social media platforms, we have been generously sharing valuable resources and insights.

It was an incredible experience to revisit my hometown and celebrate the publication by hosting a book signing event. To my delight, the turnout was extraordinary! Numerous old friends, family members, former co-workers, and esteemed colleagues came forward to show their support. Their presence left me utterly speechless. The success of the event has only fueled my determination to further disseminate awareness about hearing loss and my book. So, stay tuned for more updates and information in the near future.

In my ongoing mission to advocate for hearing loss awareness, I am actively seeking individuals who would like to join my non-profit organization and become part of this important cause. Together, we can make a significant impact on spreading awareness about hearing loss, particularly within the black community. Will you stand beside me in this endeavor? Are you or someone you know currently grappling with the challenges of hearing loss? Let us join forces and create a supportive network that empowers and uplifts those affected by this condition.
